By addressing and reducing future trauma, we can create a more resilient and prosperous society, benefiting individuals, families, and communities.
It's time for a new narrative because "love is enough" is not sufficient for raising children in any context, and especially alternative or non-traditional families.
While love is undoubtedly a crucial for parenting, it is not the sole factor that determines the well-being and development of children.
Love has to be humble. Love has to listen to other perspectives and be willing to change. Love has to take action.
At Represented Life, we acknowledge and affirm the often overlooked perspectives and voices of non-traditional families, particularly the children.
We aim to validate their unique experiences within and beyond their family, school, community and media.
We listen to those who were raised in non-traditional families such as adoptive, foster, mixed, blended, LGBTQ, and single parents. We honor our differences and allow each their own story and the ability to rewrite their story if they choose.
Additionally, we offer comprehensive support and resources for parents to foster an inclusive environment for all.
